Ecclesiastes 4:12 states that “though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.” This is the foundational verse for HCA’s 412 Program of academic support. Students in need of additional assistance in reading, mathematics, or organizational skills are equipped to excel through ongoing partnership, collaboration, and support. This program assists students who may have learning difficulties, but with appropriate assistance could thrive in HCA’s small group, college prep classroom setting.
Elementary students in need of this support receive pull-out instructional time for reading and/or math taught by full-time teaching staff. Middle and high school students receive 412 support through classroom accommodations, instructional strategies, and study skill development as overseen by our school psychologist. HCA’s school psychologist monitors each 412 student’s academic progress and serves as a liaison between the student’s family and the educational staff to ensure that their instructional needs are successfully met.
