Warrior Football Announcement

WARRIOR FOOTBALL– The Warriors traveled to Douglasville on Friday to play region opponent Kingsway Baptist. The Warriors jumped up early with a big kick return from sophomore Jackson Harris. The Warriors fought all night but were defeated  54-13. The Warriors are back to work this week preparing for their last and final regular season game against non-region opponent Fideles Christian. The loss on Friday drops the Warriors to 1-3 in the region. The Warriors will enter the State playoffs as the #3 Seed. This is the Warriors third consecutive year entering the State playoffs in 8 man football. For the first round of the playoffs, the Warriors will be on the road facing the #2 seed Vidalia Heritage Academy.  Coach Taylor reported, “We had four key players injured after the Pinecrest game. Senior Malachi Mathis is out nursing a shoulder injury. Senior, Luke Sell is out with an ankle injury, and Junior, Avery Blanton is out with a back injury. Zane Lamonde is out (questionable for return next game) with a shoulder injury. We’re pretty banged up to say the least, but on a positive note we’re noticing other kids stepping up while those guys are out. We have a lot of kids that have been flushed into new positions. We may have to finish the regular season with this group, which I’m okay with because it will give them a ton of experience heading into the playoffs. Our main goal these next couple of weeks is enter the playoff healthy enough to make a run for the State Title.”
